There will be times when you have to work with dry volume. For example, a job
that requires the placing of concrete. If your forms are 16' by 7' by 6'' (which equals
56 cubic feet), how many cubic meters of concrete is required? By using the cubic
conversion chart (Table Appendix I-5) you find that 50 cubic feet equals 1.416
meters, and 6 cubic feet equals 0.170 cubic meters. You add the two together and
find that you need 1.586 cubic meters of concrete.
