Apply a drop of light machine oil (3) to the cutting
Hold down on the straight edge with one hand while
holding the cutter (5) in an upright position in the
other hand. Your forefinger should extend along the
holder with your fingertip near the wheel.
Start your cut at the far end of the pane of glass
drawing the cutter toward you. It is important that
you maintain proper pressure throughout the cut.
Correct pressure is indicated by a scratching sound.
Too much pressure or a dull wheel will produce a
crunching sound. Make a continuous mark from one
edge to the other edge.
Draw the cutter over the line only one
time. If it is necessary to recut a groove, do
not use a new cutter.
