TM 9-243USING A CENTER PUNCHWARNINGWEAR EYE PROTECTIONNOTEThe procedure which follows is only one ofmany uses of a hand-held center punch.1Mark the material to be punched with an "X" (1).3Position the punch upright and strike the bluntend (3) of the punch with a hammer (4).4Remove the punch and check your mark (5). If it isnot in the center of the "X," or not deep enough, youwill have to repeat the procedure.2Hold the punch (2) over the mark.
