TM 9-243USING AN ADJUSTABLE SNAP GAGEBefore an adjustable snap gage can be used to checkparts, the GO and NO GO buttons, pins, or anvils mustbe set to the proper dimensions.1The snap (1) gage must first be clamped in a holder.NOTEAdjust the “GO” dimension first as shownin the illustration, or if desired, reverse theprocedure and adjust the “NO GO” di-mension first.2Loosen the locking screw (2) and turn the adjustingscrews (3) until the dimensions (4) is set.345NOTEThe desired dimension may be taken froma master disk, a precision gage block, or amaster plug.Turn the other adjusting screw (3) until the “NO GO”dimension (5) is set.After adjusting for proper dimensions with themaster precision piece (6) in place, tighten thelocking screws (2).Recheck to make sure the dimensions have notchanged before using the gage.15-5
